Yoga is beneficial for health in ways that modern science is just beginning to understand. Even though it has been applied with therapeutic intention for thousands of years, Yoga Therapy is only just now emerging as a discipline in itself.
Yoga Therapy, often referred to as Healing Yoga, adapts the practice of yoga to the needs of people with specific or persistent health problems. It is highly effective at helping people reduce symptoms, restore movement, increase vitality and improve confidence.
You will learn specific postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit your individual needs. The challenge may be an illness, a chronic condition, or even a temporary condition such as pregnancy or post-childbirth.
We also offer group yoga classes at the Center for Physical Health. Since our instructors are familiar with your rehabilitation program, your yoga experience at the Center will address your fitness without over-stressing your body.
